- Following the annulment of the World Cup, another title contest emerged for boxer Meinke.

Following the letdown due to the sudden postponement of the WM fight in the spring, pro boxer Nina Meinke is once again stepping into the ring. She'll be competing for the IBF world title in the featherweight division at the "Hamburg Boxes" event on September 21. This information was shared by P2M, the Hamburg boxing stable, on Wednesday. Her opponent will be Daniela Bermudez from Argentina.

This is the third significant opportunity for Meinke, who's the goddaughter of former world champion Sven Ottke, to claim a world title in her boxing journey. Previously, she's held titles such as the WIBF world title and the European title.

A setback after fight cancellation in March

In March, she had to endure a sense of disillusionment as her title fight against four-time world champion Amanda Serrano in Puerto Rico was called off. Serrano broke the news to the packed hall in San Juan's capital, with tears in her eyes. Serrano attributed the cancellation to a sudden injury.

At the time, Meinke expressed her devastation. Subsequently, Serrano's management confirmed that Meinke would receive her full purse as agreed upon. After Serrano shifted weight classes, the IBF belt became vacant. This will be the first time Meinke is fighting for a world title on home soil in Hamburg.

To date, she has participated in 21 professional bouts, winning 18 of them, four by knockout. Her record includes three losses.

Despite the disappointment of the cancelled fight against Amanda Serrano, Women like Nina Meinke show remarkable resilience. With her opponent Daniela Bermudez from Argentina, Meinke will aim to etch her name among the Women who have claimed IBF world titles.
