Following the stabbing incident with a knife in Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) is scheduled to visit the city this Saturday. As reported by dpa, Reul will commence his visit by attending a scheduled church service in celebration of the city's anniversary before meeting with the local police. The "Siegen Zeitung" previously reported this information.

Reul turns 72 this Saturday and had no prior engagements. He decided to travel to Siegen on Saturday morning, shortly after a woman (32) attacked people with a knife in a bustling shuttle bus en route to the city festival the previous evening. At least six individuals were harmed, with three sustaining critical injuries. "This event has left us all in complete shock," expressed Siegen Mayor Steffen Mues in a statement. Despite the tragedy, the city festival will carry on as planned. In a statement on Wednesday, Reul alluded to the city festival while addressing the knife attack in Solingen: "We must not let such incidents diminish our joy of celebration."

During his visit, Interior Minister Herbert Reul will engage with the local police in Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia, to discuss the recent knife attack incident. Following the city festival celebrations, North Rhine-Westphalia's anniversary church service will be attended by Minister Reul.
