In a routine health check, celebrated TV personality Danielle Fishel (43) got a startling news: she had DCIS, a kind of breast cancer. The beloved star of "Boy Meets World" shared her health struggle in the latest episode of her podcast "Pod Meets World".

"I discovered I have DCIS," the mom of two young boys mentioned. DCIS refers to an unusual growth of cells that could possibly develop into breast cancer.

"It's really, really, really early. It's practically at stage zero," stated Fishel, famous for her role in "Full House", and gave out positive vibes: "I'm going to be fine. I'm going under the knife to take it out. I'm getting subsequent treatment. (...) I'm going to regain my health again."

Regular check-ups saved her life

"The only reason this cancer was found at stage zero is because I promptly set up my annual mammogram appointment the moment I received a text suggesting me to do so," the actress elaborated. She hopes her tale will inspire others to stick to their regular check-ups, aiming to help more individuals spot cancer at an early stage. Her tumor hasn't spread to the nearby breast tissue yet.

Fishel stressed the necessity of annual check-ups: "We can't simply think: 'I don't have time for this, I went last year.'"
