In the municipality of Gondelsheim (Karlsruhe district), the Saalbach river has overflowed at several points, according to police reports. Initial assessments by the fire department suggest that no evacuation measures are currently necessary, a police spokesperson said. People who were surrounded by water in their vehicles have reported it. No information on injuries has been reported yet.

On the social networking site Facebook, the municipality informed that a state of emergency exists throughout the town. People are urged to support friends and neighbors if possible. "Many helping hands and pumps, etc. will also be needed after the rain."

The fire department of Gondelsheim wrote on Facebook about the flooding: "We currently have many reports to prioritize and work through." It may take some time.
