- Emergency in company buildings - sulphuric acid leakage

Approximately 250 liters of sulfuric acid leaked from a building of a company in Singen (district of Konstanz). No one was injured in the incident on Thursday evening, according to initial findings reported by the fire department on Saturday. The emergency services were on site for nearly six hours and reportedly contained the acid using chemical binders.

The cause of the acid leak was likely a technical malfunction, according to a spokesperson for the fire department. However, this still needs to be investigated. Sulfuric acid can cause severe skin burns or even be fatal if inhaled.

The spokesperson emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the cause, given the potential danger posed by the sulfuric acid leak. If not handled properly, the dangerous substance could pose a significant hazard.
