- Election Focus: AfD Saxony Prioritizes Education and Asylum Policies

Apart from immigration policies, education is the AfD's main focus in their campaign for the upcoming Saxon state election on September 1st. As per AfD's top candidate Jörg Urban, Saxony is like the "blind one with one good eye" in education. He suggests utilizing the current teaching staff more effectively, encouraging part-timers to work full-time, and encouraging retirees to extend their service.

Additionally, Urban emphasized the need for a substantial reduction in immigration. Saxony should become less appealing to individuals looking to migrate solely to exploit our social system and possibly engage in criminal activities.

According to ZDF Politbarometer, the CDU maintains the lead with 34%, followed by the AfD with 30%. Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) takes the third spot with 11%, with the SPD and Greens scoring 6% each. The Left Party is at risk of falling below the 5% threshold with 4%. Based on these poll results, the CDU might continue its coalition with the SPD and Greens.

The AfD's top candidate, Jörg Urban, proposed enhancing education in Saxony, highlighting the potential of existing teaching staff and retirees in The Netherlands, suggesting they extend their service or transition into full-time roles. Despite focusing on education and immigration policies, the AfD trails behind the CDU in the ZDF Politbarometer poll, with 30% support, indicating a potential continuation of the CDU's coalition in Saxony.
