Driver with three per mille causes rear-end collision
A female driver in Chemnitz caused a rear-end collision while under the influence of cannabis and with a blood alcohol level of three. The 35-year-old went to the police station on her own a little later, as the police announced on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old driver crashed her car into the vehicle of a 39-year-old woman without braking on Tuesday morning. The 39-year-old driver was slightly injured. According to witnesses, the drunk woman briefly spoke to the driver of the other car after the accident, but then drove on. After she handed herself in to the police around midday, the officers carried out a breath test and a drug test on the 35-year-old. The woman now faces several charges.
The high impact collision that occurred on Tuesday morning was attributed to the influenced state of the driver, as she had a blood alcohol level of three per mille. Regrettably, traffic accidents related to alcohol consumption and substance use can lead to serious consequences, including injuries and criminal charges.
