3rd Bundesliga - Dresden defeats Duisburg: Third league record

Dynamo Dresden have closed the gap on leaders Jahn Regensburg. On Sunday, the runners-up in the 3rd Football League defeated MSV Duisburg 4:2 (1:1). Paul Will (5th minute) put the Elbe club in front, Kolja Pusch (45.+2) equalized. Stefan Kutschke and Tom Zimmerschied (54-56) brought Dynamo back into the game with a double strike. Dresden's joker Robin Meißner (83') and Duisburg substitute Robin Müller (87') sealed the final score. The match in the Schauinsland Arena was watched by 12,091 spectators.

The Saxons got off to the perfect start with Will's header. Dynamo then failed to decide the game early on. Duisburg grew stronger and deservedly equalized through Pusch. When the game finally threatened to tip towards the home side at the start of the second half, SGD turned up the heat. Captain Kutschke and winger Zimmerschied made the difference in just over two minutes.

The away win also saw Dresden set a third league record. Never before has a team collected so many points (86) in a calendar year. The previous record was set by FC Heidenheim (85) in 2013.
