Defending champion Arantxa Rus can continue to hope for her second triumph at the Hamburg Rothenbaum. In the WTA tournament ECE Ladies Hamburg Open, the Dutch player seeded third defeated Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6:4, 6:3 in the semi-finals on Friday.

Rus' final opponent on Saturday at 13:00 will be Hungarian Anna Bondar, the 27-year-old number four seed who beat Serbia's Olga Danilovic 6:1, 3:6, 6:4 in the first match of the day after 2 hours and 33 minutes. Tournament favorites Mayar Sherif (Egypt) and Tamara Korpatsch (Germany) both exited in the quarterfinals the previous day.

Rus will be facing Bondar in the ECE Ladies Hamburg Open final. Regardless of the outcome, Arantxa Rus' contribution to the ECE tournament has been significant.
