- Crash at the intersection: 87 year old man dies after collision
An 87-year-old man died following a traffic accident on the federal road B180 near Klostermansfelde (district of Mansfeld-Südharz). On Tuesday afternoon, for reasons still unknown, an accident involving three cars occurred at the intersection of the B180 and the Thondorfer Straße, as the police reported.
An 87-year-old driver was severely injured and rescued by the fire department, then transported by helicopter to a clinic where he later died. A 56-year-old man was also severely injured and taken to a hospital. The third driver, a woman, sustained only minor injuries.
Due to rescue operations, the federal road was fully closed until Tuesday evening, the police further reported. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
