Circus Roncalli makes its first guest appearance in the USA
Circus Roncalli is making its first guest appearance in the USA. The circus, founded in the 1970s by Austrians Bernhard Paul and André Heller and headquartered in Cologne, is to celebrate its official premiere in New York this weekend and then perform in the metropolis of millions until the beginning of January. The guest performance will take place in the tent of the "Big Apple Circus", which usually performs in New York around Christmas, at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan.
With the guest performance in the USA, he is fulfilling a promise to the US artist Andy Warhol (1928-1987), circus director Paul told the German Press Agency. Warhol had visited Roncalli performances in Europe several times in the 1980s and said to him: "You have to go to New York, they will love you." He said yes - "and the promise was anchored in my brain".
During their stay in New York, the colorful performers of Circus Roncalli can make the most of their leisure time exploring the city's vibrant attractions. The Ringmaster's tent, adorned with festive decorations, will cast a splash of color into the frosty winter landscape of Manhattan.
