Chief of Staff no longer wants to work for Prince Harry

Josh Kettler only joined Prince Harry's team as Chief of Staff in May, but it seems his tenure is already over. While the separation is said to be amicable, it's likely to further damage the reputation of the royal and his wife Meghan.

Prince Harry will now have to restart his search for a chief of staff. According to People magazine, Josh Kettler has resigned from his position after just three months. Kettler was reportedly hired on a trial basis in May. Both parties agreed that the role wasn't the right fit.

Kettler started his role as Prince Harry's chief of staff in May, just a week before the royal's trip to Nigeria with Duchess Meghan. He also accompanied the prince to London in May for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. Before joining the Duke of Sussex's team, Kettler was chief of staff and head of strategic partnerships at the communication platform Cognixion, according to People.

Although the resignation is said to be amicable, it may reinforce the narrative that Harry and Meghan struggle to retain their staff. The Daily Mail reports that the couple has lost at least 18 employees since their wedding. Some of them have reportedly formed a group in the UK, half-jokingly calling themselves the "Survivors' Club of Sussex." An ex-employee also accused Meghan of bullying, claiming she "always has someone in her sights" in an official complaint to a superior. Meghan denied the allegations, calling them defamatory. No report on the alleged bullying in the palace was ever published.

Harry and Meghan to Visit Colombia

In early August, Harry and Meghan announced their plans to visit Colombia later this year. Details about the trip are not yet official. The couple is responding to an invitation from the country's Vice President, Francia Márquez. Before the trip, they will likely need to find a new chief of staff.

While the trip may look like an official royal visit abroad, it will be a private trip for the couple. Like their Nigeria trip in May 2024, this will not be an official state visit as Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals.

For Harry and Meghan, this will be their first official joint trip to South America. For Meghan, it will also be an opportunity to showcase her Spanish skills. As a student, she interned at the US embassy in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.

The resignation of Josh Kettler as Prince Harry's chief of staff may raise questions about the stability of his team. Despite the amicable separation, Kettler's departure could contribute to the ongoing narrative that Harry and Meghan have difficulty retaining their staff.

With Kettler's departure, finding a new chief of staff becomes crucial for Prince Harry before his planned trip to Colombia with Meghan.
