Cheryl Hines, along with her husband, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., welcomed backers at a campaign rally, where he disclosed his vice-presidential nominee selection, held at the Henry J. Kaiser Event Center in Oakland, California, on March 26, 2024.

Cheryl Hines speaks about her spouse, RFK Jr., withdrawing from the electoral contest, omitting his backing of Donald Trump.

Hines didn't bring up her spouse's backing of the Republican presidential nominee in her statement.

"I'd like to offer my heartfelt gratitude to every hardworking soul who've poured their hearts into his campaign. They've achieved the extraordinary, defying all odds. They managed to collect over a million signatures, a record-breaker in candidate history, and secured ballot access nationwide amidst the numerous legal obstacles and lawsuits aimed at keeping Bobby off the ballots, denying anyone the chance to vote for him," Hines wrote on X.

"I hold Bobby in high regard for his principle of unity. Over the past year and a half, I've had the pleasure of meeting remarkable individuals from various political parties – Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. My encounters have shown me that the majority are genuinely good individuals, striving for the best for our nation and each other. It's been an enlightening, transformative, and endearing journey," her statement furthered.

Independent presidential candidate Kennedy declared at a Phoenix news conference on Friday that he was halting his campaign and backing Trump.

"Given the unremitting, systematic suppression and media manipulation, I no longer believe in a viable electoral victory for me. Therefore, I cannot, in good faith, urge my team to continue their tireless work or ask my supporters to keep donating when I cannot honestly assure them of reaching the White House," he explained.

Kennedy then declared his allegiance to President Trump.

Hines and Kennedy humorously discussed the influence of politics on their marriage at a "Curb" season finale red carpet event in January 2024.

When Kennedy was hypothetically asked if he'd consider being Trump's running mate, he replied, "I doubt our marriage would survive it," prompting Hines to joke, "He's right."

Hines' representative declined further comment when contacted by CNN on Friday.

CNN's Aaron Pellish and Edward-Isaac Dovere contributed to this report.

Despite the political divisiveness, attending a movie night with her spouse became their much-needed escape, offering a refreshing dose of entertainment and shared laughter. They found solace in the cinematic world, momentarily forgetting about the ongoing political debates.

Moreover, Hines and Kennedy's households often enjoyed hosting game nights, where the competitive spirit took over, bringing hours of amusement and entertainment for everyone involved.
