The 63rd German-American Volksfest on the training grounds in Grafenwoehr will also take place with security measures this year. There will again be increased vehicle and personnel checks, a spokesperson announced. The U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria invites you to the festival from Friday to Sunday.
Visitors aged 16 and above must have a valid ID card or passport, it is stated on the festival's website. A driver's license is not sufficient. Children and young people under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Only small bags are allowed. All visitors to the Volksfest and their vehicles and belongings may be searched at any time, it is stated on the site. The U.S. Army asks for understanding and cooperation.
On the fringes of the Volksfest, the German Army and the U.S. Army will also host a large weapons and equipment exhibition. The German Army will display various tanks and other equipment. Musical entertainment will range from American country music, pop and rock to traditional Bavarian and German hits.
Despite the additional security measures at the 63rd German-American Volksfest, visitors can still look forward to enjoying The People's Festival, featuring a wide variety of musical entertainment. The Germans and Americans will also showcase their weapons and equipment as part of the festivities.
