Plau am See (District of Ludwigslust-Parchim) attracts visitors not only with its intact nature and access to the water sports areas of the Mecklenburg Lake District, but also with cultural offerings. This summer, the Burgfestspiele feature "The Jungle Book" as a family musical based on the book by author Rudyard Kipling, and the revue "Hotel Las Ananas" filled with Schlager hits and popular pop and rock songs.

According to the organizers, around 3,000 visitors have enjoyed the performances on the open-air stage in the castle courtyard since the middle of July, and there are still one to two performances planned per week until August 24th. Since 2022, the Burgfestspiele have enriched the diverse range of open-air events for summer guests in the northeast.

The entertainment program in Plau is supplemented by song evenings and cabaret. On August 12th, the Leipzig Pfeffermühle will perform their program "5 Percent Dignity" in Plau, followed by comedian and magician Till Froemmel on August 15th. The old, long-abandoned cinema will also be used as a stage, for example on August 18th, when songs and chansons from Bodo Wartke to George Kreisler will be performed.
