Brunswick sports hall to be named after Dennis Schröder
A sports hall in Braunschweig will soon be named after basketball star Dennis Schröder. This was decided unanimously by the city council on Tuesday, as reported by several media outlets. The captain of the German national team, who celebrated the sensational World Cup victory in Manila at the beginning of September, is considered one of Braunschweig's best-known players.
The professional was discovered in the sports hall of the Integrated Comprehensive School Franzsches Feld, which will soon be called the Dennis Schröder Hall. The 30-year-old plays for the Toronto Raptors in the North American professional NBA league. He runs a basketball academy for young players in Braunschweig and is also the majority shareholder of the Bundesliga club Basketball Löwen.
