Nobility - British royals show unity
After a turbulent few days, the British royals have made a joint appearance: King Charles III (75) appeared at a reception with his wife Queen Camilla (76), his son Prince William (41) and his daughter-in-law Princess Kate (41). Together they greeted diplomats at Buckingham Palace in London on Tuesday evening.
The fact that the palace also published a portrait of the four royals for the occasion was seen by British media such as the "Times" and "Telegraph" newspapers as a sign of solidarity. In the UK, the new book "Endgame" by author Omid Scobie has been making headlines for days.
Unlike the English edition, the Dutch version published the names of two royals who Prince Harry (39) and his wife Duchess Meghan (42) are said to have accused of speculating about the skin color of their then unborn children. According to consistent reports in the British media, those named are Charles and Kate. The Dutch version of the book has been recalled. The palace has not yet commented on the allegations.
The BBC wrote that after a week of difficult headlines and public family drama, the picture was timely. It shows a united front. The tabloid "Sun" titled the picture "Awesome Foursome".
