Sarah Hyland (33) reportedly had to helplessly watch a break-in at her home. Two masked burglars allegedly gained access to the "Modern Family" actress's Los Angeles residence last Saturday (July 27). This was reported by "TMZ" citing sources from law enforcement.
Security system alerted her
The burglars allegedly smashed a window and entered the property at sunset. Hyland was not home at the time but witnessed the situation live through her security cameras. When her home security system notified her, the "Love Island USA" host saw the two men exiting through the front door.
After the incident, police conducted a search to ensure no one was left in the building. The burglars have not been apprehended yet. It's also unclear if and what items were stolen. However, Hyland is said to have to check her inventory upon her return.
Currently busy in New York
The actress is reportedly spending most of her time in New York due to her leading role in the play "Little Shop of Horrors". She plays the female lead, Audrey, in the musical currently showing at the Westside Theatre. Alongside her, "No Hard Feelings" actor Andrew Barth Feldman (22) plays the main character, Seymour.
In "Little Shop of Horrors", it's about the florists Audrey and Seymour. The orphan Seymour acquires a carnivorous plant from a Chinese dealer in the course of the story, which he names Audrey II and feeds with blood.
Despite the break-in at her Los Angeles residence, Hyland was not present due to her current engagement in New York. She is leading the play "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Westside Theatre, where she plays the role of Audrey.
Unfortunately, the security system alerted Hyland about the breaking and entering, but she was unable to prevent the incident as she was away from home.
