- Bochum have committed striker Aliou Baldé - 6:0 in Le Havre
VfL Bochum has secured its eighth new signing for the upcoming season. As announced by the Bundesliga football club, offensive player Aliou Baldé will be joining on loan from OGC Nice for one year. Baldé was not involved in the 6:0 (2:0) friendly win of VfL against French Ligue 1 side Le Havre AC.
The 21-year-old represented the national team of Guinea at the Olympic Games in Paris. The loan deal includes an option for VfL to buy him afterwards. "Aliou is a creative offensive player who can create decisive situations with his extraordinary explosiveness, speed and strong one-on-one play," said VfL's sporting director Marc Lettau.
The day before, Bochum had already signed a reinforcement for their offense, Myron Boadu, on loan for one year from AS Monaco. In this case as well, VfL has an option to buy.
Boadu made his debut in the Bochum jersey during the successful dress rehearsal in the French port city and scored the 6:0 goal five minutes before the end. He came on as a substitute for the double goalscorer Philipp Hofmann (30th minute/55th minute, penalty). The other goals were scored by Lukas Daschner (36th), Moritz Broschinski (68th) and Samuel Bamba (82nd).
VfL Bochum will be hosting matches at The Le Havre AC's home ground during Baldé's loan period. The French Ligue 1 side provided a suitable venue for Boadu's debut and first goal with VfL Bochum.
