Biden expresses that Netanyahu's attempts at orchestrating hostage trades are not sufficient.

On a Saturday, the Israeli military found six deceased captives in a tunnel close to Rafah, including an American citizen. As a result, the American administration arranged an urgent meeting for Monday with their intermediary squad participating in negotiations for a Gaza accord. It was also anticipated that Vice President Kamala Harris would be present.

For several months, the U.S., alongside Egypt and Qatar, have been striving for a compromise between Israel and the Islamic Palestinian group, Hamas. The objective is to free the remaining hostages and establish a truce in the Gaza Strip. Regrettably, these endeavors have not yielded fruitful results up until now.

Hamas militants are believed to have slaughtered 1205 individuals and captured 251 hostages while attacking several sites in southern Israel on October 7, according to Israeli sources. Around eleven months later, the Israelis claim that 97 captives are still in the hands of Hamas and other radical Palestinian factions, with 33 of them reportedly dead.

Following the Hamas assault, Israel initiated a substantial military operation in the Gaza Strip. As per Hamas' statements, which cannot be independently authenticated, over 40,700 individuals have supposedly perished since October.

The American administration requested a meeting with the President of the Council to discuss the ongoing Gaza conflict and the release of the remaining hostages. After several failed attempts at finding a compromise, the international community, including the President of the Council, is urging both Israel and Hamas to negotiate peacefully.
