- Berlin plans to set up a centre for anti-Semitism in culture

The Berlin cultural administration, according to its own statements, intends to promote an advisory center against antisemitism in the cultural sector. Until early September, potential carriers could submit a concept, as announced in a statement. The planned advisory center is to provide, among other things, training and workshops on the topic of antisemitism or create its own offers. It will specifically target cultural institutions and cultural actors.

"Not since the Hamas attack on Israel and the subsequent Gaza war have we seen a clear increase in antisemitic incidents in Berlin, including in the Berlin cultural scene," the cultural administration stated.

According to a spokesman's statement, the advisory center is to start work as soon as possible, "definitely this year." The potential carriers are to submit a concept along with a financing plan. "Since we don't yet know the concepts, the final decision will be made after the end of the expression of interest procedure." Budget funds are available for 2024 and 2025.

The cultural administration has announced that the selected carrier of the advisory center will begin operations at the consultation centre against antisemitism in Berlin as soon as possible. The proposed advisory center, located within the Berlin cultural sector, aims to provide training and workshops to various cultural institutions and actors.
