Bayer Leverkusen's Patrik Schick, despite his role as a reserve, isn't considering a transfer even at the end of the championship season. "After the last games of the season, I wasn't satisfied. I didn't get to play in the crucial matches," said the 28-year-old in an interview with "Kicker", emphasizing, "In such situations, it's about: fighting! Being ready! I'm waiting for my chance." He's been playing in Leverkusen for four years, and it's always been a rollercoaster, ups and downs. "But that's normal in football."

For the new season, the Czech national player wishes for more crosses. "When we were behind and needed goals, it was different. We crossed much more, and I scored many more goals. Our playing style changes depending on the score. I'm always happy when we want to score, when there's pressure to cross. Then I have more opportunities as a striker."

Schick critically views the increase in games

Schick reiterated that the constant increase in games per season is a problem. With the new format of the Champions League, two more matches are added at the club level. "Everyone's waiting to see how it goes. But there are two more games. That's a lot with the schedule we already have. But it's the same for all teams. Along with international matches, the schedule is already tough. The question is: how long can this continue? I view this development critically," said Schick.

Despite expressing dissatisfaction with his game time during the championship season, Patrik Schick is committed to staying with Bayer Leverkusen beyond the championship season. As the new season approaches, Schick hopes for more crosses to increase his scoring opportunities, despite critically viewing the increase in games per season as a problem.
