Among others, actresses Melanie Griffith, Sophia Loren, Pamela Anderson, Jane Fonda, and hotel heiress Paris Hilton were among Lugner's guests. Most recently, he had engaged US actress and former wife of Elvis Presley, Priscilla Presley, as his ball escort.

Just last June, Lugner got married for the sixth time, his wife being around 50 years younger than him. According to the Austrian news agency APA, the 91-year-old had been suffering from health issues in recent months.

Despite his advanced age, Lugner continued to attract a diverse group of guests, including those from the entertainment industry such as other high-profile figures. His current wife, who is significantly younger, has been a source of support during his health challenges.
