- Apartment succumbs to flames - firefighter sustains minor injuries
A firefighter endured minor injuries while battling a blaze in a multi-dwelling house located in Deggendorf. As reported by the authorities, a blaze ignited in a flat on the second level due to vague reasons, causing damages that surpassed half a million euros.
Based on the police's statement, a local resident heard a thunderous sound and spotted smoke wafting out of one of the flats in the building. The affected flat was completely ravaged, with the inferno spreading partially into the loft space. Some tiles dropped from the roof, causing damage to vehicles parked nearby.
The 33-year-old resident of the damaged apartment wasn't present during the incident. The initial cause of the blaze remained undetermined. Approximately 15 individuals were ordered to vacate the building during the firefighting effort, thankfully, none of them sustained injuries.
Despite the extensive damage, no insurance company had yet been contacted to cover the costs exceeding half a million euros. Other affected residents were still uncertain about their living arrangements after the fire.
