Angelina Jolie triumphantly claims her first Tony Award, sharing the joyous moment with her daughter Vivienne.

The duo graced the gala for "The Outsiders," a theatrical adaption of the cherished S.E. Hinton novel, where Jolie played a producing role. Her 15-year-old offspring was credited as a producer's aide.

The teen seemed teary-eyed when Danya Taymor, the show's director, clinched the Tony for best direction. In her gratitude speech, Taymor mentioned Jolie amid a cluster of "fabulous ladies" who had aided her journey.

"To all the budding artists who aspire to create, what others might deem a flaw or a burden within you could very well be your secret weapon," Taymor exclaimed. "Don't shy away from following your instincts. Taking a risk in arts pays off."

"The Outsiders" clinched the prize for the best musical too.

Jolie and her minor child have been strong advocates for the endeavor they spearheaded, including their presence at the Broadway premiere in April. The teen drew media attention when it was revealed she excluded "Pitt" from her last name in the musical's Playbill.

Jolie and her ex-partner Brad Pitt have jointly reared six children, including Vivienne. In 2016, Jolie initiated a divorce suit against Pitt, stating insurmountable differences. The pair still engage in legal skirmishes over a shared French vineyard and property.
