Actress Glenn Close grapples with both Covid-19 and RSV simultaneously, pushing back her filming for 'Knives Out 3'.
Acclaimed Actor, 77, Shares Health Update on Film Set
The renowned thespian, aged 77, shared a video on Instagram on Wednesday, revealing that she had journeyed to London to commence filming for "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery," but was only able to work for two days before battling a double illness of Covid-19 and RSV.
"I'm only just beginning to feel like myself today," she stated. "I'll need to start from scratch and find my groove for shooting again, hoping to return to set tomorrow."
She disclosed that her bout with illness was particularly harsh, but she's enthusiastic about shooting the movie in London and can't wait to collaborate with the talented cast once more.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus, more commonly known as RSV, is a common respiratory virus generally resembling a common cold, though it can be severe, especially in infants and the elderly.
Approximately 64 million individuals worldwide contract RSV yearly, says the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Although Covid-19 cases are currently low – with only 3% to 4% of individuals testing positive, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – the US Food and Drug Administration's panel of independent advisers agreed unanimously earlier this month to recommend that vaccine manufacturers revise Covid shots for the 2024-2025 season.
Close signed off her post by expressing that she's feeling better and acknowledged the unusual start to filming. She reminded her followers to wear masks in crowded settings and to take care of themselves.
Directed by Rian Johnson, "Wake Up Dead Man" is the third installment of the "Knives Out" series, following "Knives Out" (2019) and "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" (2022).

"Wake Up Dead Man" is set to premiere in cinemas in 2025.
