Actor Josh Gad expresses great enthusiasm about his participation in a subsequent installment of Mel Brooks' comedy film, Spaceballs.

Actor confirms collaboration with comedy icon on "Spaceballs" sequel, initially reported by The InSneider. Gad excitedly announced the news on his social media, stating, "My phone's never popped like it did today! Working with the legendary Mel Brooks himself to create something worthy of this franchise and his legacy has been a long-time dream come true."

He further shared that he holds Brooks in high regard, and they're putting in all efforts to fulfill the 37-year wait of fans. "We're worshiping at the altar of all things Brooks, ensuring you get the best possible outcome," Gad wrote.

The original film gained a cult following, with Brooks co-writing it as a spoof of popular space and sci-fi movies. The original cast included Brooks, alongside stars like Rick Moranis, John Candy, Bill Pullman, and Daphne Zuniga. Brooks, at 97, remains a legendary figure in the entertainment industry.
