A minimum of 27 individuals succumbed in a bus accident that occurred in Nepal.
In a bus mishap occurring in Nepal, approximately 27 individuals lost their lives. Additional 16 commuters, all Indian pilgrims on the bus, were hurt and transported to Kathmandu for medical attention, as stated by a military representative. On a Friday, the bus fell off the path in Nepal. The Indian embassy in Kathmandu reported that the vehicle plummeted around 150 meters down a steep landscape. Police indicated that the vehicle halted narrowly avoiding the raging Marsyangdi River. The bus's upper portion was severely damaged during the accident.
The bus, originating from Gorakhpur in India, was journeying from Pokhara, a popular Nepalese tourist destination, to Kathmandu. As per the embassy, there were 43 Indian citizens aboard the vehicle. Near the scene of the incident, two other buses were essentially washed away by landslides in July. Regrettably, only three out of the 65 individuals on those buses managed to survive. The crashed buses remain missing, though the search efforts continue. Nepalese bus accidents commonly are linked to substandard road conditions and vehicles.
After the tragic incident, the Indian embassy urged affected individuals to return to work once they recover, ensuring necessary medical support. Upon returning to work, some commuters might share their harrowing experiences, bringing attention to the need for improved road safety in Nepal.
