increase in theatre visitors - 15% more theatregoers in Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz

After the Corona dip, more people are visiting the theater in the Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz region. In the recently concluded season, 104,000 visitors were counted - that's over 15 percent more than in the 2022/23 season, according to a theater spokesperson. The pre-Corona level has almost been reached. "We've seen a steady increase."

The summer operetta "A Waltz Dream" by Oscar Straus in the Schlossgarten of Neustrelitz was seen by nearly 11,000 spectators, with an attendance rate of 80 percent.

Next year, the operetta "The Circus Princess" by Emmerich Kálmán will be performed in the Schlossgarten under the open sky. The Theater and Orchestra GmbH Neubrandenburg/Neustrelitz reported an average attendance rate of 76 percent for their performances and concerts throughout the season.

The Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater in Schwerin and Parchim also saw an increase in visitor numbers, according to a spokesperson. In the recently concluded season, 138,000 visitors were counted, which is around 6,000 more than in the previous theater season.

Despite the rise in theater visits, the 'Other' venues in the region have yet to match this trend. Interestingly, the 'Other' venues are eager to learn from the theater's success strategies to boost their own visitor numbers.
