DWD predictions - Torrential rainfall occurring in the Free State region.

Downpours, drizzles, and more - the German Weather Service (DWD) predicts a week of wet weather in Bavaria. From Friday to Sunday, significant rainfall is expected, with amounts ranging from 50 to 90 liters per square meter. Some locations might even see up to 150 liters of rain per square meter. The DWD issued a preliminary warning for these conditions.

The Bavarian Flood Information Service (HND) reported slight flooding along the Schwarzach River near Warnbach (Schwandorf district). At the moment, the water hasn't overrun banks, but the HND forecasts a growing risk for water overflow starting Friday. Unfortunately, the potential flood heights can't be predicted accurately. The police haven't reported any damage or casualties.

Thursday's weather, according to the DWD, will be characterized by heavy rain, isolated thunderstorms, powerful gusts, and small hail. Clouds will dominate the skies on Friday as a continuous and stronger rain arrives from the south. Northern parts of Bavaria will follow suit, with showers and the occasional thunderstorm.

The DWD predicts a widespread, stormy Saturday, with temperatures reaching between 13 to 18 degrees. The southern regions might see some sun in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Sunday will bring rain around the Danube River and in Swabia. However, it could also stay dry in the eastern Alpine foothills and the Bavarian Forest. The mercury will climb to a high of between 16 and 21 degrees.
