The late Françoise Hardy dominates Spotify's streaming charts.
In some countries that don't speak French, such as Germany and the United States, there was an astonishing 1000% increase in the number of listens to Hardy's songs on Spotify. In France, a massive 2000% jump was noticed for 15 of the singer's tracks over the course of just a few days.
The esteemed American publication, Rolling Stone, acknowledged Hardy as the sole French representative in their list of the greatest musicians and singers in history, published in 2023. This distinction made him a symbol of French pop and grace for other modern artists, including Mick Jagger and David Bowie.
