During the G7 summit in Italy, the world's most influential leaders sing a tune in honor of Germany's Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, as he celebrates his 66th birthday. The event took place on the second day of the gathering. Reports indicate that they serenaded him before the first session on Friday.

A Birthday Song for Olaf from the Summit Chiefs

Joining in the celebration are: EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen (65), EU Council President Charles Michel (48), and the host, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni (47). Other attendees include the leaders of the industrialized countries, such as US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron (46), British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (44), Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (52), and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida (66).

As Olaf Scholz flew to his hotel on the first day, he received his first birthday wishes in the air. The German Chancellor was then greeted by his wife, Britta Ernst (63), and his closest associates upon arrival.

Today, Friday, there will be limited time for revelry since the G7 meeting agenda includes discussions on China, Africa, and Artificial Intelligence. Also expected to join the meeting is Pope Francis (87) from Rome.

A Birthday Serenade from Andrea Bocelli?

To cap off the summit on Friday evening, attendees may enjoy another round of songs for Olaf Scholz. It is likely that the tenor Andrea Bocelli (65) will perform for the high-ranking guests. It's not confirmed if "Happy Birthday" will be written in the singer's cue card.
