Road congestion - The A7 towards Hamburg was closed near Jagel during the weekend.

Over the upcoming weekends, drivers traveling on the A7 highway towards Hamburg will confront detours and increased journey durations. Beginning from Friday night (8:00 PM) to Monday morning (5:00 AM), this stretch of the highway between Schleswig/Jagel intersection and the Autobahnkreuz Rendsburg will shut down for asphalt repairs according to Autobahn GmbH Nord's announcement. The detour commences at Schleswig/Jagel, meandering via the B77 and A210 then rejoining the A7 at the Autobahnkreuz Rendsburg.

The following weekend (21st of June, 8:00 PM to 24th of June, 5:00 AM), highway users will need a lot of patience. The part of A7 heading towards Hamburg between Schleswig/Jagel intersection and Warder interchange will be closed for asphalt work. This detour starts at Schleswig/Jagel, then navigates via B77 until Jevenstedt and continues along the L328 to rejoin the A7 at the Neumünster-Nord intersection.

However, the B5 and A23 route is out of the question as the B5 connecting Witzwort - Tönning is undergoing closure for both weekends. Nonetheless, traffic going north remains unaffected.

The existing asphalt layer on the A7, just north of the Autobahnkreuz Bordesholm, has reportedly served for 29 years. Evident wear and tear on the main carriageway with noticeable compressions and breakouts necessitate renovation. The approximately 9.3 km long revamp job will be completed before the onset of the main vacation season, rendering the A7 usable for holidaymakers during their trips.
