Snow on the Feldberg - it remains wet and windy

The first snowflakes of this fall have fallen on the Feldberg. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), temperatures dropped to minus two degrees Celsius at the high altitude of the Black Forest. However, the snow will not stay there yet, said a DWD meteorologist. The ground is not yet cold enough for that.

A first snowfall on the summits is nothing unusual for this time of year, said the spokesman. However, it was only a brief interlude. "It won't be more than a few flakes." The cold front is now already over Eastern Europe.

Meteorologists are expecting rainy and increasingly stormy weather for the weekend. "Sunday in particular will be wild," says the weather expert. "We're also expecting gale-force winds on the Feldberg on Sunday." The nights could be frosty, especially in the mountains.

Despite the forecast of gale-force winds on the Feldberg on Sunday, the snow from the previous fall may still be affected by the weather, as the German Weather Service (DWD) mentioned that the ground is not yet cold enough for the snow to stay. The current weather forecast predicts rainy and increasingly stormy conditions for the weekend, with Feldberg likely to experience these strong winds.
