Russia suspected in Czech Republic bus arson attacks.

Recently in the Czech Republic, an attempted arson attack on buses owned by the Prague Transport Company was prevented. Petr Fiala, the country's Prime Minister, speculates that Russia could be behind this incident.

After the recent detention of a suspected terrorist in Prague, the Czech Republic has publicly accused Russia of involvement in the failed arson attempt. During an interview on television after a meeting of the National Security Council, Fiala stated, "It's not just possible, but highly likely that Russia is involved in this case."

Last Thursday, there was an attempted arson attack on buses from the Prague Transport Company, but it was unsuccessful due to the rapid response of the workers. Fiala suggested that the incident had been planned and funded from a different country.

The Prime Minister praised the intelligence agencies and the police for their "excellent and professional work." The investigation is still ongoing.

The detained suspect, a 26-year-old foreigner, was arrested over the weekend through a public search operation. The court has ordered him to be held in pre-trial detention. The individual is facing charges of committing a terrorist act. If found guilty, he could face a prison sentence of up to 20 years. Earlier reports indicated that the suspect was from South America.

The Czech Republic is among the countries strongly supporting Ukraine in its battle against the Russian invasion. The European Union (EU) and its member states are spearheading an initiative aiming to acquire up to 800,000 artillery shells for Kyiv in countries located outside the EU. According to the Czech government, 15 EU and NATO countries have committed a total of 1.6 billion euros to the project - including Germany. In the past, the Czech Republic has supplied Ukraine with combative and infantry fighting vehicles, multiple rocket launchers, combat helicopters, and munitions.
