Record champion SC Cottbus Gymnastics finishes DTL in fifth place
German record champions SC Cottbus Turnen have finished the 2023 Bundesliga season in fifth place, missing out on a return to the Final Four on December 2 in Ulm. On the last main round competition day of the German Gymnastics League (DTL), the nine-time title holders won 43:20 against Eintracht Frankfurt in Forst on Saturday evening. With eleven points, national team gymnast Lucas Kochan was the best gymnast for the Cottbus team, who reached the DTL final last season. "The result and fifth place are a reasonable end to the series after our problems at the start of the season," said team captain Devin Woitalla.
Despite their record-breaking title wins, SC Cottbus Gymnastics missed the opportunity to compete in the Bundesliga Final Four, finishing the 2023 season in fifth place. In a positive note, top gymnast Lucas Kochan from SC Cottbus Gymnastics, SC Cottbus Gymnastics' bundleliga team, performed exceptionally well in the DTL, scoring the most points with eleven.
