TV thriller - Nebra Sky Disk is now the subject of an ARD thriller

Punctually on the 25th anniversary of the discovery of the Nebra Sky Disk, this sensation has landed at the center of an ARD crime series currently being filmed. However, the film with the working title "The Dark Legacy" is mostly fiction, as a PR agency announced on behalf of the production company MadeFor and ARD Degeto Film on Friday.

The story revolves around possible connections between the archaeological find and a present-day murder. And the question: Does an uncanny curse weigh on the historical artifact, or is it a malicious crime?

Felicitas Woll, played by the daughter of the murder suspect, harbors doubts about the curse. Torben Liebrecht portrays Commissioner Ritter, who tries to solve the mystery and clear up the murder. "Thomas Sieben wrote the script, which fictionalizes the underlying historical events and invents all actions and characters anew." Ziska Riemann directs the film, and Aljoscha Hennig is responsible for the visual design.

Filming in Berlin and surroundings, as well as in Nebra, lasts until July 22. The broadcast date is still unknown.

In early July 1999, thieves in Sachsen-Anhalt discovered the "Nebra Sky Disk" as part of a bronze hoard. The 3600-year-old disk is the oldest known, concrete representation of astronomical phenomena worldwide.
