The government official in charge of internal affairs - Minister investigates police protective gear after knife assault

The unique scarves were put through their paces to see if they could provide a safeguard for law enforcement officials, as per Stübgen. He had already had a chat with the police chief about this. "If this is indeed a step up in safety, we'll take action promptly," added the Interior Minister. The police union had voiced dissatisfaction with the protective gear.

Last Friday, the police paused for a moment of respect during the eleventh hour and thirty-fourth minute in front of Potsdam's Film Museum. A group of roughly one hundred policemen and Brandenburg's Interior Minister honored their slain comrade, Rouven Laur. A 25-year-old Afghan stabbed five members of the anti-Islamic group Pax Europa and a 29-year-old officer on the market square of Mannheim a week ago. Unfortunately, the officer died from his wounds.
