Kylian Mbappé signs with European Champions Real Madrid.

When he was young, Kylian Mbappé had a dream of playing for Real Madrid. Now, he's making that dream a reality, as he's moving on from his previous heart club, Paris St. Germain. The recently crowned Champions League winner has made the much-anticipated move official: the French striker is signing with Spain's top club.

Real Madrid has now confirmed the signing of Kylian Mbappé, the French player who has been the subject of much speculation due to his soon-to-expire contract. Mbappé, the 2018 World Cup winner, will be joining the Spanish team for a five-year commitment, lasting until the middle of 2028. Since his PSG contract expires this summer, Real doesn't need to pay a transfer fee.

For weeks, there's been talk about the future of this vice-world champion because of his expiring contract. Born and raised in Paris, Mbappé has been a player for PSG since his transfer from AS Monaco in 2017 and is currently the club's all-time leading scorer.

In 308 league games, he was involved in 364 goals and won 15 titles for the team. He recently said goodbye to the fast striker with a 2:1 win over Olympique Lyon in the cup final. He's won the championship six times and the cup four times with PSG.

Mbappé has yet to experience a Champions League victory. In 2020, he reached the final of the Champions League with coach Thomas Tuchel, but lost 0:1 against Bayern Munich. In this season, he was eliminated in the semi-finals after two 0:1 losses against Borussia Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund then lost to Real Madrid in the final on Saturday, 0:2.

Back in 2022, Mbappé was on the verge of a transfer to Real, his favorite team since his youth. However, he renewed his contract in the French capital instead. But, now, he'll be playing for Real Madrid. The team will also have three of his national teammates: Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurélien Tchouameni.
