Team sport involving throwing and catching a ball into a goal - Hamburg's handball team relishes victory at home against Eisenach.

The German handball team HSV Hamburg beat ThSV Eisenach 33:29 (19:13) in a recent game. This victory happened in front of an audience of 3,669 people at the Hamburg Sports Hall. Soon, a court in Hannover will make a decision about HSV Hamburg's license for the 2024/25 season. The Handball Bundesliga (HBL) has currently refused to let the team from the North play.

The Eisenach team, who had lost both their away game (28:32) and DHB Cup quarter-final match (28:31), didn't start well in the Hamburg game. In the 8th minute, under coach Misha Kaufmann, they were trailing by 5 goals. HSV Hamburg's playmaker Leif Tissier and right-back Frederik Bo Andersen played a significant role in controlling the home team.

Even after the break, Eisenach struggled to stop the Hamburgers. Their comeback effort happened too late. Both teams' best scorers were Leif Tissier, who scored 8 goals for HSV Hamburg, and Manuel Zehnder, who scored 12 goals for Theringians.

After the game, HSV Hamburg bid farewell to eight players. These players include Dani Baijens, Thies Bergemann, Jens Vortmann, Dino Corak, Martin Risom, Max Niemann, Alexander Pinski, and Lennard Benkendorf, as they would be leaving the club at the end of the current season.

ThSV Eisenach will next play against the Berlin Foxes on Sunday (4:30 pm/Dyn) in their season finale. Meanwhile, HSV Hamburg plays their final game of the season against HBW Balingen-Weilstetten. The court will decide on Thursday whether it will be the last game of the season or the last game for the Hanseatens in the Bundesliga.
