In the realm of sporting activities, handball serves as an engaging recreational pastime. - Following Gisli Kristjansson's recent fall, anxiety resurfaces.

Prior to the Final Four of the Champions League, defending champion SC Magdeburg faces a concern with their player Gisli Kristjansson once more. The 24-year-old Icelander was taken off the field after 19 minutes against the Rhein-Neckar Lions on Thursday night, when he was stopped while airborne by German national player Jannik Kohlbacher and then landed heavily on his back.

Kohlbacher received a red card following a video review by the referees. Kristjansson managed to leave the court under his own power and was initially treated on the sidelines, yet he failed to rejoin the game. It was revealed from the SCM camp that it was probably a bruise. However, for a precise diagnosis, it was still premature.

Last year, during the Final Four of the Champions League, Kristjansson generated commotion. In the semi-final matchup against FC Barcelona, the playmaker dislocated his shoulder. Participation in the final seemed impossible. Nevertheless, it was the shoulder of the backcourt player. 24 hours later, he was playing in the final, having undergone a stress test in another hall prior to that. "My shoulder is filled with painkillers; in reality, our team doctor is the MVP," Kristjansson declared. After scoring six goals in the conclusive 30:29 overtime victory against Kielce, he was acknowledged as the most valuable player of the tournament.
