Horse riding competition - Fast horses in action during Iffezheim's spring meet event.

Set to award a grand total of €580,000 in prize money and awards, the Spring Meeting is all set to take place at the Iffezheim Racecourse. The race meet kicks off on a Thursday in the first half of the German turf season. Spanning across three days – Thursday (30th of May), Saturday (1st of June), and Sunday (2nd of June) – there will be a total of 28 races held at the prestigious German racecourse.

The crown jewel of this race meet is the Grand Prize of the Baden Economy, boasting a €70,000 purse and marked as the sporting highlight. With a field of eight horses, the race will feature some of the top names in the sport, including the long-distance champion, Lordano (Adrie de Vries), who placed second in the previous race, Mr Hollywood (Leon Wolff), and Tünnes (Andrasch Starke), the brother of Turf champion, Torquator Tasso.

The opening day at the Spring Meeting will see some of the finest German middle-distance runners go shoulder to shoulder in the €55,000 Baden Mile. One of the names included in the line-up is Arcandi (Bauyrzhan Murzabayev).

Saturday's fixture will showcase the Derby Trial – a race often used as a barometer for the German Derby, which is held on the first Sunday in July in Hamburg. The clear favorite at the moment is Wilko (Leon Wolff).

And on Friday, between the two race days, the Spring Auction of the Baden-Baden Auction Company will occur, with over 80 horses set to be put up for sale. Some of these horses may even compete for their new owners over the following days.
