Explosion at highway construction site in Upper Franconia
An explosion has occurred at a highway construction site on the A3 in Upper Franconia. No one was injured, according to the police. Individual parts are said to have flown up to 40 meters. A worker discovered a container damaged by the explosion at the construction site near Schlüsselfeld (Bamberg district) on Friday morning and called the police. It is not yet known exactly what caused the explosion on Friday night. Initial estimates put the damage in the six-figure range.
The impact of the explosion at the highway construction site in Upper Franconia disrupted traffic on the A3 for several hours. Due to the explosion and subsequent investigations, motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes in Upper France.
