Soccer - Croatia moves to the European Championship quarter in Brandenburg

The Croatian national soccer team will be staying in Brandenburg during next year's European Championship in Germany. The team around captain Luka Modric will train in the Volksparkstadion in Neuruppin and move into a resort in the city, as the Croatian Football Association announced on Monday. The "Märkische Allgemeine" newspaper first reported the news. The city is located around 85 kilometers north of Berlin. Hamburg and Leipzig, the Croatians' other venues in the preliminary round, are also within easy reach.

Croatia has been drawn in Group B. The team will first face Spain in Berlin (June 15), then Albania in Hamburg (June 19) and Italy in Leipzig (June 24).
