Could Prince William be attending the European Championship in Germany?

Check if there's space left for Harry Kane in the royal calendar. The captain of England's soccer team, Harry Kane, is certain that Prince William, the heir to the throne, will attend some games during the European Championship in Germany.

Before leaving for Germany, where the tournament begins on Friday, there was a meeting arranged with Prince William. This 41-year-old football enthusiast supports Aston Villa. However, he'll root for the English squad at the European Championship. The team and their coach, Gareth Southgate, visited the national football training center St. George's Park in Burton-upon-Trent before going to Germany.

Harry Kane spoke with the Daily Mail after meeting with Prince William, revealing that the prince is a massive fan of football and definitely intends to watch the English team's matches—even in person. "I believe, if his schedule permits it, he'll make an effort to attend some games. His love for soccer is evident from his time with Aston Villa and now with the national squad. He'll keep up with the team, especially the coach and some players, and ensure we're upholding high standards. We all know how important this is to the nation, whether you're a member of the royal family or a regular worker," Kane explained following their meeting with Prince William.

The future generation of royal supporters is anxiously awaiting the European Championship. "The kids are definitely fans already," Kane stated. In fact, Prince George, Prince William's oldest son, has accompanied his father to soccer games recently and was ecstatic during the 2021 European Championship at Wembley Stadium.

Younger brother Prince Louis (6) even provided some helpful tips for the England team. "I asked him this morning on the way to school what guidance I should provide to the English team for the European Championship. He said the players should eat twice as much as usual," Prince William said during his chat with Kane.

A suggestion the team might not be too thrilled about, admittedly. But if they follow his advice, they'll have bellies as round as the soccer ball on the field.
