The corvette "Ludwigshafen am Rhein" set sail from its homeport of Warnemünde on a Saturday with lots of public interest, bound for the Mediterranean. This German Navy ship will join a multinational fleet over the next few months to monitor the maritime region near Lebanon's coast as part of the UN's oldest peacekeeping missions, started in 1978.
