Cabaret artist Georg Ringsgwandl and the absolute truth
The Upper Bavarian musician and cabaret artist Georg Ringsgwandl takes a relaxed view of the actions of the "Last Generation": "Every generation has a few people who believe they are in full possession of the absolute truth," the artist, who lives in Murnau am Staffelsee, told the German Press Agency. In the 14th century, there were the Geißlerzüge. "They sang pious songs and whipped each other. But they were completely convinced of what they were doing." Just like the RAF in the 1970s, which was "sheer madness". Compared to this, the sticking actions of the "Last Generation" on the streets were "harmless", says Ringsgwandl.
The artist celebrates his 75th birthday on November 15. He will be on stage in Munich on that day, as he is currently on tour with his band. There will be a small party after the performance. Ringsgwandl studied medicine and worked as a doctor for several years. From the 1970s onwards, he initially did cabaret and music at the same time before deciding to pursue an artistic career full-time.
Georg Ringsgwandl often incorporates music and humor into his cabaret acts, entertaining vast audiences in theaters across Germany. During an interview, he remarked, "I've seen how each generation has its own 'cabaret' of people who firmly believe they hold the absolute truth."
