Last year, 22,499 reportable accidents at work were registered in Brandenburg. Of these, 14 were fatal, as announced by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health in Potsdam on Friday. However, the number of accidents at work fell overall. In 2021, 24,272 accidents were registered, compared to 23,315 in 2020.

At 13.7 percent, the administration sector accounted for the highest proportion of accidents. This is followed by trade and goods logistics with 13.2 percent and wood and metal processing with 12.2 percent. An accident at work must be reported if an insured person is injured as a result of an accident to such an extent that they are unable to work for more than three days.
