County of Unterallgäu - Apartment fire in nine-story apartment building

A nine-storey apartment building in Mindelheim(Unterallgäu district) has been evacuated due to a fire. According to the police, five people suffered minor injuries due to smoke inhalation, including the two residents of the apartment on the fifth floor where the fire probably broke out. Three other people suffered minor injuries due to the heavy smoke in the stairwell, according to a police spokesperson. The fire has now been extinguished.

By early morning, everyone had left the building. According to the police, 67 residents are registered in the apartment building. The entire house is now uninhabitable due to smoke gas and water from the fire, the spokesperson said. A collection point was set up for those affected at the Red Cross house in Mindelheim, where they were cared for. The police were initially unable to provide any information on the cause of the fire.
