Music - Airbeat One expands festival site: More fans expected

The Electromusic Festival Airbeat One will grow. The party area will cover ten hectares this year, three hectares more than before, the organizers announced on a Wednesday. This means more fans can celebrate in front of the stages.

According to the statements, more than 200,000 fans are expected at the airfield in Neustadt-Glewe (Ludwigslust-Parchim district) from the 10th to the 14th of July. The daily capacity is said to increase from 65,000 to 70,000 visitors. Along with camping and parking areas, the area is 150 hectares large.

The Airbeat One, which is taking place for the 21st time, is one of the largest music festivals in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This year, it is themed "Vive La France". 228 artists are scheduled to perform on six stages, as stated. The main stage, which is up to 180 meters wide and 50 meters high, will always be decorated appropriately according to the motto. The design remains a secret until the opening.

A new stage is said to be the "Classic Area", a tribute to the dance music of the 1990s and 2000s. Artists like Charly Lownoise, Quicksilver, and DJ Sammy are scheduled to perform there. For the main stage, the organizers have reportedly booked stars like Armin van Buuren, Deborah de Luca, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Timmy Trumpet. Over 100,000 tickets have already been sold.
